April Inspiration
Idea Junkyard (Things that Inspire Me)
Happy (almost end of) April! Here's what's been going on/inspiring me this month! Music Bryan (my fiancée who you may have met at various markets) introduces me to pretty much all of my new music. I was having a bad day earlier this month, and he put this one on for me, and it made me feel better right away. If you ever need a pick-me-up, this has quickly become my go to song! Naimononedari by performed by Kana-Boon and Necry Talkie Books I'm Reading Lately I've been rereading an old favorite - the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip...
March Inspiration
Idea Junkyard (Things that Inspire Me)
So far, March has been a wonderful month weather-wise. The sun has come out of hiding and Spring is in the air! Music This month I've been particularly enjoying scrolling through some old favorites from my younger days. One playlist pulled up Tracy Chapman's Fast Car, and since then I have been playing it on repeat. There are a lot of covers, and I browsed through a few of them, but as I suspected, the original is still the best! Her voice is amazingly rich with emotion, it's completely enchanting. Books I've been reading two books this month. My fiction fix is The...
February Inspiration
Idea Junkyard (Things that Inspire Me)

So, you may notice my February inspiration includes some happy colorful escapism! Music Making a big change from last month, I've recently been listening to a lot of Chillhop while I work. I find that the repetitiveness gets me into a good...
January Inspiration
Idea Junkyard (Things that Inspire Me)
This year, I thought it might be fun to share each month what creativity is inspiring me behind the scenes! I call it my Idea Junkyard – it’s always hard to pinpoint where exactly ideas come from, but I suspect it’s the confluence of all my favorite things.
Working from home
Idea Junkyard (Things that Inspire Me)
Ahh, work life balance. Some days, you're the grey cat. Some days, you're the black cat. In all seriousness, this so called "work-life balance" can go out the window when you're suddenly required to start working from home. Luckily, I've had a little practice with this tricky balance since transitioning to working from home full time with SquidCat, Ink last August, so I thought I'd share some things that have worked for me. 1. Dress as if you might meet people (even if you won't) It took me a while to realize how important this is, but I've definitely noticed that I take...
