Find SquidCat, Ink at 934 Gallery and Carnegie Gallery!

What's New

This year, I wanted to challenge myself to branch out into new venues for sharing my art in the world beyond product creation, and I've been lucky enough to hit two goals in one month!

I’ve always thought that one of the benchmarks of artistic success is to be invited to paint a mural, so when I saw an opportunity pop up at 934 gallery I decided to apply! I was so excited to hear that I was one of several artists who got picked to paint murals for their building.. The spot I got is called the “Garden Door” and is nestled inside a sweet green space. I feel like it couldn’t be more perfect for my work. I am going to be recreating this painting I did for Inktober last year:

I'll probably need to make some stylistic changes since I won't be working in watercolor this time. The closest I’ve ever come to painting a mural is acrylic paintings I did in high school, and working in a more opaque medium will be quite an adventure.

Another hallmark of artistic success in my mind is having my work exhibited in a gallery, and I’m pleased to share that that dream has come true too! My part time job at the library had the opportunity to submit pieces to their Staff Art Show, and so of course I had to apply! You can find 3 of my pieces at Main Library’s Carnegie Gallery from now until 9/27/24!
